A multi-faceted trend sport for all year round
One for all: Nordic sports, the trend sport for 365 days a year

A centre for nordic sports, a mecca for walkers, joggers and runners

Seefeld’s high alpine plateau offers the perfect pre-requisites for all those who are full of enthusiasm for those new trend sports which have taken the world by storm in recent years: nordic sports. Seefeld, including the neighbouring towns of Leutasch, Mösern, Reith and Scharnitz, has devised something brand new for all lovers of this multi-faceted leisure activity: the innovative Running and Nordic Walking Centre, which opened on 28 May 2007. Markus Daschil is especially proud of this unique new center, since he was the initiator of the project and the one who made it come about.

Nordic sports – anywhere, anytime.

What used to seem a bit odd has become an integral part of life: adults and teenagers equipped with sticks, striding in zestful steps through the landscape, without skis and without snow. Nordic Walking has arrived. Even if it is still viewed by many as a summertime version of cross country skiing.

We at the Bergland, however, see a plethora of sporting possibilities under this umbrella; that’s why we use the all-encompassing term “Nordic Sports”: sports which you can do all year round in any and all types of weather (almost). Nordic sports start out with walking, hiking and Kneipp therapy and extend to well known Nordic Walking, to Nordic Trekking and all the way to snowshoe hiking and, of course, cross country skiing. In the widest sense, we even count a visit to our sauna as a kind of nordic sport. Nordic sports: indoors and outdoors!

Expertise – the new Running and Nordic Walking Centre

The new Running and Nordic Walking Centre offers a total of 18 routes in varying grades of difficulty for unlimited sporting fun: a network of currently 162 kilometers (a network of 250 km is planned) ensures lots of variety.

Boredom: a word we don’t understand
The character of the route ensures that these sports, whether walking or running, aren’t merely experiences for the body, but also for mind and soul. Every route includes points of particular scenic beauty. For example, the “theme” paths lead over a “treeroot trail”, then through a copse of alpine larches or up to the Kneipp footbaths, to name but a few examples. Thus, nordic sports blossom into true all-round experiences of nature.

We make sure that you get the highest possible enjoyment from all the routes you select: our hotel shuttle whisks you straight to the starting point of your chosen route and picks you up again at the end point. And once you’re back “home” again at the Bergland, you can sit down at our Internet port to access your own utterly individual achievement profile. Step by step, as you advance.
